Why We Fight: Manifesto of the European Resista...

Identitarians and others making up the European resistance lack a doctrine that truly serves as a political and ideological synthesis of who they are - a doctrine that speaks above parties and sects, above rival sensibilities and wounded feelings, that brings the resistance together around clear ideas and objectives, uniting them in opposition to the Europeans' dramatic decline. Our people today face the gravest peril in their entire history: demographic collapse, submission to an alien colonisation and to Islam, the bastardisation of the European Union, prostration before American hegemony, the forgetting of our cultural roots, and so on. In the form of an introductory text and a dictionary of 177 keywords, Guillaume Faye, one of the most creative writers of the European 'Right', makes a diagnosis of the present situation and proposes a program of resistance, reconquest, and regeneration. He holds out the prospect of a racial and revolutionary alternative to the present decayed civilisation. The manifesto's principal objective is thus to unify the resistance by developing a common doctrine that unites everyone and every tendency seeking to constitute a European network of resistance - a doctrine that goes beyond the old sectarian quarrels and superficial divisions. All relevant subjects, including politics, economics, geopolitics, demographics, and biology are broached. As it was for the 19th-century Left with Marx's Communist Manifesto, Why We Fight is destined to become the key work for 21st century identitarians. Also included is an original foreword by translator Michael O'Meara, author of New Culture, New Right, as well as a foreword by Dr. Pierre Krebs, Chairman of the Thule-Seminar in Germany. 1. Seminar paper from the year 2008 in the subject Cultural Studies - Miscellaneous, grade: B , Aalborg University (Humanities), course: Communication, Identity and Globalization, 43 entries in the bibliography, language: English, abstract: In recent years, reports on cultural conflicts have been a regular part of the daily news. The press and media coverage varies from big news stories, such as the so-called War on Terror or the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, to more domestic incidents such as racially motivated crimes in various European countries. Some scholars, such as Samuel P. Huntington, hold deeply ingrained cultural differences responsible for those conflicts. With the rise of global phenomena (i.e. demographic shifts, asylum seekers, emigration throughout Europe) ethno-nationalism and nationalism are also on the rise. Taking a closer look at Britain, being a former colonial power and a nation characterized by a high immigrant population, exemplifies the different attitudes towards multiculturalism across society. By promoting a sense of "Britishness", extreme right-wing parties such as the British National Party (BNP) try to secure the cultural dimensions of what it means to be British. This not only affects nations, but most of all communities within nations, specifically minority groups. In contrast to the very concept of multiculturalism, forces are gathering within nations to go back to their roots. With the fall of the Soviet Union, much of the world's attention has been placed on the Islamic world. This attention primarily focuses on the last remainders of highly differential cultural context of Muslim nations. Therefore, hyperglobalists such as Ohmae and Reich argue that globalization melts away cultural dissonances and brings the Muslim world into the West. However, the arrival of Islam into Western nations, such as France, England or Germany, often causes a serious identity crisis among natives and immigrants. Members of both sides want to preserve their heritage by assimilating the other side. As a result, this 'clash of civilizations', results in both sides breeding fundamentalist wings within their culture to preserve their own identity. Incidents such as the London and Madrid bombings or the race riots of 2001 in England are just a few examples. Having those recent conflicts and developments in mind, several questions arise: In how far has a clash of civilizations occurred on a domestic level (i.e. England) and - if so - can those conflicts be ascribed to differing cultural factors?

Seminar paper from the year 2019 in the subject Sociology - Political Sociology, Majorities, Minorities, grade: 2,0, Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, language: English, abstract: The research question of this paper is, "How does Diversity Management lead to a successful integration of refugees into the German labour market?" In order to answer this question, this research paper first gives an overview of the term "Diversity Management" with its definition and objectives. Furthermore, the current refugee crisis will be analysed in short, by giving an introduction of the term "refugee" itself and an overview of the facts and figures of the current crisis as well as the legal requirements for entering the German labour market. The last and biggest part will deal with the integration of refugees into the labour market. By doing so, special attention is payed to the measures of the Diversity Management and the arising benefits that come along with that.During the last decades, Germany has become a country of diversity. This is not only justified by an increasing number of immigrants, but also because of the current refugee crisis. In most cases, the refugee crisis is stated as something negative, but it is possible to turn this negative thinking into a positive one. With the help of a successful Diversity Management, all these incoming refugees are able to be integrated into the German labor market. They can set the basis for new workforces in German companies and prevent shortages, since a lack of qualified workers due to the demographic change will arise in the close future.

Imagination and Critique

This book is most easily described as philosophy of history, however, this descr- tion may be a little misleading. Truly, this is a work of applied philosophy that was originally conceived not in a philosophy seminar but in a school of public policy. As a philosopher learning about the study of public policy formation, I was f- quently struck by what I perceived to be two very different sets of assumptions and methods at work. I found these assumptions and methods to be mutually exclusive conceptually, but they were often employed simultaneously. On the one hand, it was often accepted as given when studying past policy changes and political events that history is shaped by impersonal forces, that p- ple's actions can, and ought only to be understood as manifestations of their own material interests, and that individuals are to be identi?ed as representatives of their respective demographic categories. Thus, for example, the events in question were explained in terms of the race or class of the various parties. When such an approach was challenged with an appeal to the actual arguments and stated rationales of the participants of the historical moment in question, this was taken to be an option that might be employed either in conjunction with the former method or as an alter- tive. Which method one chose to emphasize or employ exclusively seemed more a function of inclination or intuition than rational adjudication.

A group of scholars converging on a common and socially relevant economic theme of research, that of households' welfare and poverty, met several times in the last two years to discuss the research progress and the opportunity to bring to gether for publication the research so far accomplished. They shared a research project supported by a grant from the former Italian Ministero dell'Universita e della Ricerca Scientifica e Tecnologica (MURST) now Ministero dell'Istruzione, dell'Universita e della Ricerca (MIUR): The Equiva lence Scales in the Measurement of Households' Welfare: Statistical, Economic and Demographic Analysis. The decisive meeting, an international seminar on the topics, was hosted by the University of Florence, siege of the national coordinator of this project. When one think of Florence, it is inevitable to think of the unfolding of Ren aissance, and reciprocally. th To the eyes of a traveller who had arrived to Florence in the 15 century, the city would have appeared as a sort of El Dorado, similarly to what would have occurred to the first conquerors of the South America's lands, so much astonishing were the richness of arts and the opulence of life. The flourishing of painting and sculpture had not equal all over the world and was reaching tops never made equal before. Masaccio, Brunelleschi, Donatello and later on Leonardo and Michelangelo, were the artistic and intellectual genius that enlightened beauty lovers princes.....

Seminar paper from the year 2012 in the subject Business economics - Economic Policy, grade: 1,3, European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder), course: Economic Transformation in Central and Eastern Europe, language: English, abstract: Slovenia is one of the best examples for a successful transformation. Founded in 1990, after leaving the communist Federal Republic Yugoslavia, it was one of the first new eastern member states of the EU and the first Eastern-European country which introduced the EURO in 2007. In this paper the transformation process of Slovenia will be analyzed in detail. After a review of Slovenia's history and its development in Yugoslavia, the initial conditions of the transformation will be described. In the following the transformation process will be dissected. Therefore the political transformation, the liberalization and the market transformation, the privatization and the developments in the financial sector will be portrayed before the entire transformation process will be evaluated. Furthermore the accession to the EU and the EURO zone will be examined, before two current problems, the demographic change and the financial crisis, will be analyzed. At the end of this paper stands a conclusion why Slovenia's transformation was successful and which parts of it fell short.
